THE UNIQUE UNIVERSALITY OF THE ABSTRACT

Mihaela started her artistic career when she was 10 years old. She was admitted at that age to the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Iasi-Romania and after graduation she continued her dream with a B.A. at the Faculty of Visual Arts.

The difficulty of living as an artist during those years made her to pursue a career as a lawyer after obtaining a Master degree in Law. Even during the years when she practiced as a lawyer she never abandoned her art, working part-time as visual arts teacher and participating in group and solo art shows in Romania.

After moving to Canada in 2001 she decided to return full time to painting. She presented successfully her art to shows in Toronto, Mississauga and Kitchener- Waterloo area with awards and large public appreciation. She also collaborates with interior designers in various projects and teaches art classes and workshops.

During these years she was awarded grants from Ontario Art Council and City of Kitchener and she was commissioned by KW Symphony.

She is currently represented by "Gallery on the Grand" Waterloo, "Studio Vogue Gallery" Toronto and "Town Square Gallery" Oakville. Her artwork can be found in public and private collections in Europe, North America and Asia.

Painting is something that she loves dearly. This lets her to search for the balance between what can be seen and what is to be sense - the emotional structure and universality of the abstract.
